Say No to Fake Smile

Do we have to smile when we take a picture?

As how it happened when i was a kid
"Smile! Smile! Smile wide!"
That was how the adults utter a cry and tell when we stand in front of a camera.

Hmmm... do I have to do this?
Why should I? Merely for the picture to be nicer?

But sometimes i really don't have the mood to smile nor any effort to widen my lips.
Kids live under pressure and trying to act odd to orders...
i was quite an obedient one...
but neither i had create a fake happy gene...
i was quite a stubborn one, too...

Do we have to smile when we take a picture?

Just snap my mood in... be honest, snap in what you can capture...
angry, frustrated, happy, dumb, sorrow, are all the emotions we possess from time to time.
however, those seldom presented on the picture diary...

maybe life is tough and melancholy...
that's why the memory we wanna capture are always the happy gene...
though it is fake...
it doesn't matter at all...

but i wouldn't tell lies...
just snap what you get...
from time to time... after time to time...
and it would be more meaningful to look at every single moment of mine,
as things were carved by bona fides...

Lousy Combination

Everything can happen...
When you desperately need some of your gadgets to improve their performance simply get something compatible to MERGE them up...

Hmmmm...
This may looks stupid but it is really happening.. and it WORKS...

When you are to stay in a countrysite that is lack of everything
INCLUDING a WEAK coverage of telecommunication signal,
you WILL do anything to keep yourself connected.

of course, you can just buy a better handphone... change a line...
but if you are lack of that budget, you may just try my way, a cheap way...
hmmmm... a lousy way...

Helliday

When people are ennjoying holidays... for DeepaRaya...
Certainly not for me...

I am not a guy that like to say I am busy to prove my tight schedule or interesting lifestyle...
But I have to say this...
"I am very busy."

Something I don't enjoy it...

Hmmmm... seldom have time to surf online and wandering from blog to blog...
Have no choice but to minimize my blog volume...
But hell who cares la...

Anyway... I am still blogging else where like my MSN blog and my project blog...

Hope will be free enough to resume everything here...

Mechatronics Nightmare

University lifes isn't that interesting when you need to deal with tonnes of projects...

Hey... I am not talking about assignments or courseworks or reports...
They're PROJECTS!!!!!

Dealing with projects means dealing with troublesome things especially Engineering Projects.
I checked out students taking EE and Mechanical... They're not really that busy as the Mechatronics... Which, i am one of the Mechatronics...
Although this semester I will be taking only 4 subjects, but most of them bring tonnes of workload...

Let's see what software/program I need to deal with...
1. Miscrosoft Project (hmmmmm... not bad laaa easy thing...)
2. Matlab (not so familiar in it...)
3. Pro Engineer Wildfire V2.0 (Duh... this one is killing me!)
4. Java (What is this?)
5. C Programming (Forgot all liao lo...)
Somehow... I still need to study on PBASIC or maybe PIC Basic for my final year project programming part...

Siao one...

What Can You See?

What can you see through your palms by acting a pose like this?

.
.
.
.
.
.

I can see my view is being blocked
I can see my camera on it's tripod
I can see I am acting like a dumb
I can see my holiday is coming to an end
I can see the future is beyond my sight

Cul-De-Sac

Even after you try
Even after you work
Even after you gain
Even after you achieve
You might lose them before you can say Jack Robinson...
So how are we going to prevent from the bottle-neck or even dead-end?

Can anyone guess what this chinese verses from?

UNiM Open Day

Went to University of Nottingham Malaysia campus in Semenyih yesterday.
It was UNiM Open Day!

It was a long journey from Klang and there are several route to the destinations.
However, after I missed an Exit, I need to go for another route, that past a total of 6 tolls.
Well, i guess i'll spend other time cursing the tolls.

Reached there after about an hour drive.

Entered the main entrance, you will need to pass some guards there
then there is a roundabout which you can either turnabout to the exit or enter the campus driving around a huge lake.
There are a few fountain in the lake... roughly 2 or 3 there...
It somehow make the scene more "lively" than a huge dull campus.
Not bad.
There is a brige across the lake there.
I think it is a footpath brige, its too far so I didn't walk there. :P

Main Entrance Lake and Fountain

After parking my car near the Student Association (SA) building
there are lots of Open Day sign direct you to the Teaching Center,
you can seek advise or maybe asked for a campus tour.

Open Day Sign

You can probably find lots of this sign in the campus...
as many as the number of security guards...
I wonder they work part time or what...
bCause i really doubt: "do we need this MANY?"

A long corridor

Of course, I went for the campus tour.
It seems MOST of the visitors were new/potential students with their parents. :)

Before joining the tour
Let's briefly take a look on the UNiM map.

UNiM Map

The Legend is incomplete with some of them are empty and blank.

I'll list them out instead:

A - Administration Building
B - Business and Management Building (None of my business)
C - Engineering and Computer Science Building (Labs at groundfloor)
(Pharmarcy student going to share here)
D - Extension of Engineering and Comp Science Faculty (I guess)
E - Not Sure... haha.. But i think it should be an academic building with classrooms and teaching hall...
F - Central Teaching
G - Library (having an odd egg shape)

Legend

I.1, I.2 and I.3 are the student's accomodation buildings.
They're attached with strange name like Tioman, Langkawi and Redang.
Maybe is it main to intro and ad our country's lovely vacation spot to the foreigners.

It would be fun after the Uni starts, when your friends asked you
"Where are you?"
You can answer them:
"I'm in Tioman!"

All the academic buildings are surrounded in circle in a small gap in between.
The design is simply awesome.
Although those buildings aren't really gigantic, but they're certainly what we called:
"although sparrow is small, five internal organs are in there too"
(麻雀虽小,五脏俱全)

The middle of the circle is a fountain. It isn't operation thing anyway.

And the one below is the Engineering and Computer Science Faculty.
RED colour!!!
That's really cool and nice! I love the colour they offered to the faculty.
RED is Liverpool FC's colour. :P

Engineering and Computer Science Faculty

Closer snapshot of the Eng and Comp Sci Building

I wonder what the heck the cylinder tower there for?
If you know.... Please tell me...

Administration Building

Administration Building, there is a "luxurious" looking cafe on the groundfloor, indoors and outdoors.
I wonder students will be allowed to go there?
Without the signboard, I would probably think it is some sort of Starbucks cafe...

Beside the Central Teaching building is the Library and E-Learning centre.
I mean we used to called it ISCRA 1 2 3 when we were in MISC building...

Library

The shape of the Library is really weird, and I don't really like the colour...
What colour we called that anyway? "Yuck!"

Then we have the Student Association building,
where we have those fusball table, and pool table etc gaming stuff.
I didn't saw all those stuff anyway coz i bet they're on the second floor.

SA building

The groundfloor is mainly cafeteria.
The cafe is quite nice but it will be a little to packed, I guess, when the Uni commence...
And i do hope the variety of foods and the quality of food will increase over there.
However, something is certainly going to let me down i guess...
the PRICE... ai...

Inside the cafe

It was kinda dark inside, so I didnt take many shots there...

The tour is rather boring to me...
Cabut!!!

Byeeee

See you in UNiM...
If you are a student there...
or staff...
or lecturer...
or warden...
or cleaner...
or construction workers...
or cafe staff...
or.......
Cis!
Just see you and takecare and have fun!

Legal Blackmail

UP UP UP we GO!

Running expenses is SOARING in a small size town called Semenyih
especially around the area of the new campus
of University of Nottingham in Malaysia (UNiM).

The first things that soared ROCKET HIGH is the rental...

3 months ago when I had a verbal agreement with an owner of a double storey house at Taman TS, it was only RM600, unfurnished. Acceptable for me!

But now since after the rental soars
as the Uni is going to commence in late September,
the owner is like fleeing himself from me...
Avoiding my calls and ignored all kinda of approaches from me!

What I know is the price for the unfurnished lot is now cost RM1000!!!
God damn it!!!
People's really branded the UNiM student with a status of the "Richer" groups...
God damn it I am NOT!!!

Even the associate company from UNiM is going to settle some off-campus houses like the double storey units in TTS.
Renting them at a low price (RM600 - RM800), furnish them a little and tag them at RM1500!

YOU ALL THOUGHT MY DAD PRINT BANK NOTES AH!!!???

Things are getting crazy there... so am I...

Gonna Piss Off Soon

Uni is going to start in less than a month in Semenyih...
and still I am facing the house renting problems...

The verbal agreement with a house owner is likely to fall
as he had promises to call me before end of August after he acquired the CF.
Few days to go... sounds pretty bad and negative in this case...

Hope I will not pissed off around the Merdeka event...

Please Pay the 5k Bills

Hmmm...

Sometimes, I think I'm sort of "败家仔"
because I'm not earning any money
but would still plan to spend, and did spent a lot...
Somehow, "败家" is a too serious adjective on me...

I think "二世祖" should be better? Hmmm...
Again, "二世祖" is not a suitable one as I ain't from a wealthy family that capable to spend for generations...

As the title stated,
Yeah, I got something to spend on again... and most of the "possession" I made would cost around RM5k...

Previously, I had a rm5k+ on my laptop - inspiron5100
and then spent another rm5k++ on my LASIK operation, the eyes surgery...

Ok NOW... hehehe...
Sorry Dad gonna spend your "血汗钱" again.
planned to spend on a new laptop... rm4k++
This one probably ain't a choice for me cause I do need a laptop with better specs to run a heavy loaded and extreme RAM eater softwares...
I bet I can get this one in short...

What else? Yup... a lovely dSLR camera, Canon EOS350D or Nikon D70 would be nice...
another rm4k++ here...
But this case is certainly will be a fail proposal to earn an approval,
so i am not going to bring it up...
Once, i think of getting into a part-time as a photograph journalist...
get a sponsored camera and just runaway from that job...
haha.. pretty naive idea huh?
You can see how i craze to get one...

Nvm la.. gonna hold out and suppress my "欲望" for a dSLR camera... :(

Maybe not as infamous as "败家仔" nor a "二世祖"...
Whatsoever, still gonna crown as a "乞丐仔"...

New Templete Look

Hmmm...

I wonder this look is comfortable for the readers?
Normally blog readers hate to read blogs with a black or dark background...

I can't find any nice templetes that suit here.
There were some nice one but they are just to troublesome to deal with.

So i just edit a little on a picture and make it fixed at bottom left as u can see...

Hmmmm...
Any change in future?

We will see...

Hmmmm...
The title sounds kinda strange but who cares la since i think that best decribe my blog...

After 1 year of blogging, i started to ask myself again:
"Why you blog?"

For me, blog is part of life, but not part of myself.
It is something like coffee or chocolate...
You can choose not to have it, but it is so tasty and sweet and sour and bitter and..
it just able to make your life different...

Hmmmm...
However, recently i didnt have the mood to blog... coz i was busying to arrange and coordinate a few boxes of my dad's old books...
And for the first time i smell some strange odor...
the odor of time passed... and the odor of scene long before i was born...
Then i started to flip over some of the books...
I discover how beautiful everything with me, and how pretty and pure in the previous moment...

I have lost the mood to write temporary... but i stored the strength to read... and read and read...

I check over all the previous post i posted... since i have nothing to blog...
I made a TOP TEN preferable LIST of my Own during the 1 year interval...
Counting Down....

    The Dragon Illusion

Do you ever heard about illusion?

Lets see a handcraft of a little dragon illusion...

Place the dragon stand on a shelf, and walk about, the dragon's head follows you around the room.

This little dragon appears to be looking at you. But if you rotate the base this way or that the dragon's head appears to turn the other way...
Haha.. it is a great technique known as 'Eye-Foolery'

I like the way the little dragon acts, as i looked at it from a higher position, it was like feeling scared and afraid of something BIG...
When i squat down a little... it just changes its attitude like being a little bit more fearless...

    "My First Lotus? or Last?"

There are certainly some reasons for the Top Gear team (Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond) to give comments (criticization) on our new Proton Savvy...

"It's not a sports car, but certain elements have been engineered into the car that'll give you a taste of what it's like to drive one of the world's best handling vehicles," said Proton Group CEO Tengku Tan Sri Mahaleel Tengku Ariff. "We'd like to think of it as 'My First Lotus'"

Who ask our dear CEO to say something so absurd?

Wanna know how the LOTUS look like?

    Lotus Exige

    Lotus Elise

Hmmmm... Savvy has no where near to Lotus... in my view... :)

    Engineer Jokes

    How to travel without Tickets?

Three engineers and three accountants are traveling by train to a conference. At the station, the three accountants each buy a ticket and watch as the three engineers only buy one ticket.

"How are three people going to travel on only one ticket?" asks an accountant.

"Watch and you'll see," answered an engineer.

They all board the train. The accountants take their respective seats but all three engineers cram into a rest room and close the door behind them.

Shortly after the train has departed, the conductor comes around collecting tickets. He knocks on the restroom door and says, "Tickets, please!" The door opens just a crack and a single arm emerges with a ticket in hand. The conductor takes it and moves on.

The accountants see this and agree it is a clever idea. So after the conference, the accountants decide to copy the engineers on the return trip and save some money.

When they get to the station, they buy one ticket for the return trip. To their astonishment, the engineers don't buy a ticket at all.

"How are you going to travel without a ticket?" says one perplexed accountant.

"Watch and you'll see," answered an engineer.

When they board the train all three accountants cram into a restroom and the three engineers cram into another one nearby. The train departs.

Shortly afterward, one of the engineers leaves his restroom and walks over to the restroom where the accountants are hiding. He knocks on the door and says, "Tickets, please!"

    Playing with Face Analyzer

I was too boring, surfing around the website, in searching for some fun stuffs.

Then I found a quite fun stuff called Face Analyzer.
It is something like... you need to post a nice and clear potrait of yourself, and then the system will perform the race analysis, personality and celebrity match.

So I started to post some photos of mine for the analyzer to check the result. It is not a simple one as majority of the pictures i submitted were turned down.

After several attempts, i had the first success one...
But when i look at the result... it was like... errghhh!!! Shock!
What? I am a combination races of 67% Southern European and 33% of Anglo Saxon...
I even don't know what the heck is that "Anglo Saxon" race?
And thus i check my dictionary...
    This is what i get : -
"A member of one of the Germanic peoples, the Angles, the Saxons, and the Jutes, who settled in Britain in the 5th and 6th centuries"
Oh i see... i am an Old English now...
    Celebrity match? Vladimir Putin!

    What la...
I am going to try it again...
And this is what i get : -

    more details

Hmmmm... race.. still not a Chinese...
What now? 17% East Indian and 83% Middle Eastern... Oh... Now i join the Al Qaeda i guess...
But the celebrity match is better now...
as you can see in the pic, John Travolta. Wahaha!

There are many celebrity match selections in their database... and there are some famous Chinese, like Andy Lau, Bruce Lee, Chow Yun Fat, Faye Wong, Jackie Chan, Jacky Cheung, Jet Li.... etc...

    Masterpiece of the Engineering

Art take place everywhere? Engineering can do it better!
What I really think about engineering? something overwhelming ...
There is the fascination of watching a figment of the imagination emerge through the aid of science to a plan on paper.

But Oh No!! Why are engineers wearing the label of "BoRiNg"???

Hey!!! See what engineers contribute science for arts?

    choochoo-train.... booo booo....

    a v8 engine.... Vrooooooom...

    camera...

    computer desktop...

Engineers aren't boring people, we just get excited over boring things.

    Long to See Again

    繁忙的交通,拥挤的人潮,塞不著我思念的心。
    望向没有目的的远处… 遥远的星星,遥远的街灯,遥远的思念,遥远的你。

    再拥挤的城市,还是可以轻易感到空虚的;
    热闹的灯光不停闪烁,却仍然有许多寂静的角落。

    回家吧
    被窝是温暖的,孤单也躲在里面

    没有美梦的睡眠,会不会就像没有爱情的人生?

    Bad Form

    Hmmmm...

Everything seems to be in bad form.
I mean... the gadgets and all stuffs i need to use...
Either they're not fit, or not functioning, or not stable, or not sufficient...
Money and effort is the solution... Aiii...
    Let me list them out...

    External CDRW
What problem? I think is the adapter or maybe the cdrw is not receiving the power, since the power indicator is flickering... expired on mid August...

    Laser Printer
Stupid printer keep on stating that it had a paper jam situation when it is not... headache...

    Internal Laptop CDRW
I wonder it is the reader lense dirty or what... gonna buy a "cleanser" see whether it will settle the problem...

    Insufficient HDD
Old laptop with 30GB really can't fit... left around 0.5G and need to always clear out something... Now burner failed to function... what else to do? no more downloads.... :(

    Coffee Maker
Hmmmm... the coffee maker is looking fine from the outside but it is already having serious rustness inside... it is still safe to use it?

    Hmmmm... what else?
I guess not, and I hope not...
Else you'll need to spend time to send it for a repair, and maybe, worst case, pay for a new one...

WCG Fifa 2005 Rules Went Handicap

I am ready and being prepared to participate in WCG for a long long time.
Meanwhile one of a friend from a forum, who is participating soon told be that the "Off the Ball" control button is banned!
I am so shock to hear this.
I quickly go check out the truth... and unfortunately, it is true...

    One of the rule stated:

"Use of Off the Ball button is not allowed. If OTB is used, the player will either be given a warning or lose by forfeit at the referee’s sole discretion."

I heard this happened because some outcry of fifa newbies claimed that it is unfair, since they're not capable to control that nor make any defence from that.
The consequence is that all the veterans that already mastered the OTB ("Z" button in keyboard) will need to practise all over again after playing with it half a year.

So after this "Z" key is banned, skilled-player will able to rest more on their fourth finger, and some, little finger.

So let me re-introduce you the new keyboard controls for Fifa 2005.

    S - Pass / Switch Player
    D - Shoot / Conservative Tackle
    A - Lob / Aggresive Tackle
    W - Keeper Charge / Through Ball
    E - Sprint
    Q - Player Run / Call 2nd Defender
    Z - Off Ball Run / Surrender
    C - Modify

How about the Game Hints before the game starts?
    BEFORE:-

    PRESENT: -

Aiii... playing for so long already now only know that the button "Z" is not allowed!

Ok la... I am not going to participate in the coming Fifa 2005 anyway. Cause I can't resist myself from clicking the "Z" button.
Luckily I didn't waste the RM35 register fees and also no need to SIA SUI on the spot at WCG.

And now I can click click click... :P

    ZZZZZZZ!

    吹咩!?
